Getting Started with Notion

If you’re new to Notion, don't worry—it's super easy to get started. You will need to sign up for an account (it's free) to be able to use this template. Jump on over to the Notion website (or download the app in the app store) and follow the instructions to sign up.

Setting up the Template

When you first get access to this template, it’s set up as a sample. Make sure you are on the Home Page, then look for the Duplicate button in the top right corner of your screen & click it. You should now have your own copy of the template ready to go! Now you can customize and populate it with the world of your campaign.

Characters

In this section, you’ll be able to organize the most important parts of any campaign: the Player Characters (PCs) and Non-Player Characters (NPCs). You can list all their details here, so you never lose track of who’s who, where, with what and more!

• Name The name of the character (e.g. Cedric the Almighty).
• Category Specify whether they’re a PC or NPC.
• Found At (NPC’s Only) Where in your campaign’s world they are currently located.
• Is Holding Any items the character is holding (e.g., a Potion, Key).
• Dead or Alive By default, this will be set to Alive. If a character unfortunately dies during the campaign, change this to Dead. May the Rest in peace.
• HP (Hit Points) This controls the current Hit Points level of the character to easily track how healthy they are.
• Initiative (For Initiative Tracker Only) ****Set this number to your Initiative Roll for the NPC’s in the Initiative Tracker page.

How to create a new PC or NPC

1. Click the Create New PC or Create New NPC button on the side of the Character’s table.
2. Enter the character’s Name.
